I had the opportunity to go see world-class rocker Eric Clapton in concert last night. I have been a fan of Eric and his guitar for years and years. What pop culture and public relations leads the public to believe is that rockers never age. Wrong. Big production, lots of lights and noise , but the best part of the concert was the two song set of just Clapton and his guitar. He had thousands captivated but then it quickly turned around to big production again. Somewhat dissappointing, but I can say that I went.
My sister and I had this aging rocker conversation after she went to see The Moody Blues. Do the Seinfeld thing- quit while you are on top, or perhaps don't try and be better than the glory days.
